Afrikaraib: a small-scale website with an appealing design, featuring photographs and biographies of dozens of African artists and musicians. Afrikaraib, an organisation for and by diasporic Africans, is a French initiative. The objective is to promote African culture, especially culture from the Maghreb. The Afrikaraib site’s ambitious navigation leads visitors to the following disciplines: cinema, dance, theatre, literature, style, music, painting, sculpture and gastronomy. The music section is more extensive than the other eight, and the style section is extremely meagre, thus the nine sections should probably be considered more a letter of intent. The site can be viewed in French or English, albeit that some of the information has yet to be translated into English.
Appealing, but small. Is that so bad? Of course not: finally a site that you can read in its entirety.
